Duborigine & Degenerated – Out Now on Golden Age

The long-awaited release of Duborigine & Degenerated on Golden Age out of Budapest, Hungary has finally come to pass! Digital versions are available now and vinyl is available for pre-order. Tune descriptions and buy link are below:

Duborigine

Duborigine is a heavyweight halftime smasher complete with trademark didjeridu accents and haunting atmospherics. A dense, stuttering sub descends to resonant frequencies, but despite the massive bass, it’s the drums that demand your full attention. Razor sharp halftime snare-crashes set the pace, interspersed here and there with cutting break edits. Duborigine projects a fierce vibe without being abrasive to the ears.

Degenerated

Taking things down a notch, the cavernous, wallowing bass lines of “Degenerated” cascade beneath delicate hi-hats and shattering percussion. This spooky, halftime creeper brings visions of a humid, primordial wilderness. A washed out, ghostly amen injects energy into an otherwise snare-less take on the ultra-minimal sound. It’s centerpiece is a teched-out, mid-range bass scrawl that occupies the space between beast and machine.

This month a new Indidjinous mix is featured on Sunrise-Tech.net, a podcast website showcasing monthly mixes from diverse DJ’s & styles that all have one thing in common: these sets are designed to listen to at dawn. Whether it’s the end of a long night or the beginning of a new day, these podcasts are ideal listening. For Indidjinous, this mix is decidedly un-drum & bass-y. There are several traditional dn’b tunes within, but half-time tunes definitely dominate the soundscape. Stay tuned for an even further downshift in Indidjinous’ sound.
